Tules Ramirez grew up in Denver, Colorado during her elementarty years where she and her family were migrant workers. She is a native of Mathis, Texas where she graduated from Mathis High School in 1976. After graduation, she attended Bee County College in Beeville, Texas and transferred to TAMUK Kingsville when it was still named Texas A&I University. In 1979, she obtained her Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. A few years later, she graduated with a Master's Degree in Bilingual Education. She has taught first grade at Santa Gertrudis for 28 years and has completed a total of 37 years teaching. Her favorite hobbies are sewing, singing, learning new languages and cultures and traveling in the United States. She is an avid walker and enjoys long walks. Mrs. Ramirez is married and has one daughter. She enjoys spending time with her three grandchildren, who are the loves of her life.
