Degrees and Certifications:
Bachelor of Science-Psychology/Sociology EC-4 Generalist Teaching Certification English as a Second Language Supplement Master of Education-Special Education (Currently enrolled at TAMUK)
I teach 3rd grade and I am the Elementary UIL Coordinator. This is my 13th year teaching. I graduated from Raymondville High School. Then, I moved to Kingsville to attend TAMUK, where I received a double major in Psychology/Sociology. In May of 1997, I received my Bachelor of Science degree. Later, in 2004, I was part of the first cohort at TAMUK to go through the ACP program in order to receive my teaching certificate. I am currently attending TAMUK in hopes of obtaining my Masters in Special Education with a certification as a Diagnostician. I am hoping to complete the program by this summer. My family has been very supportive during this time. My husband, Bobby works for King Ranch, Inc. and our two children Taylor (7th grade) and Kevin (3rd grade) attend SGISD.
I have always wanted to help people. When I graduated from TAMUK I set out to change the world. I became a probation officer in hopes of doing that. I realized that it wasn’t the right fit. My daughter was a few months old when I decided to go back to school. This “IS” my fit. I love teaching and I love when the kids see how much they can accomplish if they just apply themselves.
