Dear Lion Nation:

Welcome to Santa Gertrudis Academy High School, Home of the Mighty Lions.  It is a great time to be part of Academy High School.  Santa Gertrudis Independent School District is an A-Rated District and Academy High School Met Standards in all three areas and earned 7 out of 7 Distinctions for the 2017-2018 school year.  Our campus faculty and staff is Determined to Prevail and will continue to provide our scholars with a top-notch education that prepares them for post-secondary education and tomorrow’s workforce.

At Santa Gertrudis Academy High School we encourage our student body to be active and participate in extra-curricular activities, campus clubs and organizations, and community service.  Our campus has built a tradition of great success in extracurricular programs such as UIL Academics, Athletics, Band, and Fine Arts.  We are home to the 2018 UIL 3-A State Champion Lady Lion Softball Team.  Several programs participated in state competition during the 2017-2018 such as our Mighty Lion Marching Band which was a State Semi-Finalist.   Also representing our district in state competition was our Cross-Country, Powerlifting, and UIL Academics.  We also represented our district at the regional level and playoffs for many other sports and organizations. Our students are active participants in leadership roles in FFA, HOSA, NHS, Student Council, and other various clubs offered at AHS.  And lastly, our students are actively donating their time to campus and community projects on their own time in an effort to give back to the different organizations in our community.

At Santa Gertrudis Academy High School we believe that we must work together to ensure the success of all our students.  We encourage our parents to continue our strong parental partnership which is vital to the success of our students.  It is our dual responsibility to empower students to be independent thinkers that are self-motivated and determined to lead today and in their future.

Sincerely,

Dr. Juan M. Sandoval,

Principal
